And Jacqui: “Just wanted to tell you how much I love the ukulele! It’s brilliant how you have structured the lessons. Week 1 learning just one, easy chord and being able to play songs just with that was very empowering and had me excited for future lessons.”

And Dennis: ‘So thankful that I now have my own live music in my life. I now have this need to play/practice my Uke everyday. It's opened up a whole new world for me. Recommend this course to anyone who has always wanted to learn an instrument.“

Ukulele for continuers is for people who already play a little ukulele or guitar and want to improve their ukulele skills as well as expanding their repertoire. Joining the course gives you a reason to play more regularly – most people do when they’ve got a group lesson to practise for.

You will:

  • extend your chord knowledge

  • expand your song repertoire.

  • hone your group music-making skills

  • enhance your singing skills

I give a ‘long list’ of songs to the group on the first week and each person chooses 5 songs. I make a promise that we’ll learn at least 1-2 of your song choices in the 7 weeks.

About me:

I run my own music business called MusicJewel and my happy place is facilitating music making in circle. I have been a teacher since I was 15 (I’m a bit older than that now 🤪) and I’m a qualified music teacher with the Department of Education. I have written and taught my Beginners Ukulele Programme many times sending musicians into the world of ukulele self-sufficiency (with the help of youtube and song chart sites) and led many ukulele groups for continuers. I have taught singing, piano and ukulele and I perform with several bands and in a duo. I love the connective and transformative power of learning music in a group – there is definitely a magic in it ✨.
